Virginia Economic Developers Association Elects New Officers and Directors

Staunton - The Virginia Economic Developers Association (VEDA) elected its 2018 Board of Directors earlier this month at the Association's Annual Meeting in Staunton.
Officers for 2018 are President, Kenneth McFadyen, Botetourt County, Virginia; Vice President, Stephanie Landrum, Alexandria Economic Development Partnership; Treasurer, Jim Noel, York County Office of Economic Development; Secretary, Amanda Glover, Augusta County Economic Development; and Immediate Past President, Debbie Melvin, Virginia Economic Development Partnership.
Board members for 2018 are Shannon Blevins, The University of Virginia's College at Wise; Voncile E. Gilbreath, City of Chesapeake Economic Development Department; Linda H. Green, Southern Virginia Regional Alliance; Steven J. Harrison, Virginia Beach Department of Economic Development; Garrett Hart, Chesterfield County Economic Development; David Manley, Joint IDA of Wythe County; John Smolak, Appalachian Power Company; Telly Tucker, Danville Office of Economic Development; and Christina Winn, Arlington Economic Development.
The 2017 Annual Membership Meeting consisted of a day-long luncheon program and educational sessions with more than 125 economic developers and industry professionals in attendance. Governor Terry McAuliffe attended and received VEDA's recognition and thanks for his tireless economic development leadership. Secretary of Commerce & Trade Todd Haymore delivered the keynote address related to economic development items that will remain vital for Virginia's future prosperity.
